Gifts That Give Back: Create a Personalised Photobook with Motif

After a long and challenging year, we’re all hoping that this Christmas will provide us with a much-needed sense of normality. Although restrictions will ease, many of us still won’t be spending Christmas day with friends and family. To create my presents, I used a free app called Motif, which I found to be really user-friendly and professional. The app can be used on iPhones, iPads, and Macs to create bespoke photobooks, calendars, and cards using your own photos. It actually integrates directly into Apple Photos too, which is a real plus because all your pictures keep their quality and don’t duplicate – something I’ve experienced before with other photobook services. 

I had already gone through all my favourite photos and spent some time reminiscing over fond memories. I then picked out the best ones and saved them in an album for ease. This was both an enjoyable experience and a real time-saver as all I then had to do was select that album and import all the photos within it into Motif. 

The app uses technology to scan your pictures and filter them for you, leaving you with a selection of recommended photos laid out in your photobook or calendar organised by who’s in them and when and where you took them – a really cool feature that saves you the time and effort it would take for you to sort it out yourself. Once all of my photos were in place, I had the choice of a number of different layouts, filters and designs to jazz up my gifts and I also added in little messages to make them even more personal.

On the whole, I’m so pleased with how my presents turned out. They’re really sleek in design and appearance, as well as being surprisingly affordable.
