Have You Been Naughty or Nice to Yourself?

December 21, 2020

2020 was a challenging year for us all. The pandemic brought the entire world to a standstill and the usual hustle and bustle of campus life became eerily quiet.

With news of promising new vaccines, everyone is hoping 2021 will be different. Moving forward, you’ll need to know where you are right now to reach your goals.

In lieu of Christmas and us just mere weeks away from 2021, here are open questions for you to reflect on – both the good and the bad; the flower and the thorn.

1. How much time have I wasted by procrastinating? What am I escaping from?

2. Where haven’t I believed in myself? How has that affected where I am today?

3. How much Netflix did I watch when I knew I should’ve been doing something else?

4. Where have I neglected in my self-care? For example, not changing out of my
pyjamas, not exercising, not eating nutritious meals?

5. What haven’t I done that I should’ve done by now?

1. What did I do to make myself proud?

2. What have I learnt from this pandemic? Both on a personal level but also from a worldwide perspective.

3. Where am I very privileged? What can I be grateful for right now?

4. How did I push myself past negative emotions and achieve something great?

5. How has this pandemic changed my relationships with others and myself? Do I appreciate people much more now?

One thing that the pandemic gave us all was time. Asking yourself these open questions is a powerful way to know where you are and evaluate your situation. You can move into 2021 with a clearer vision and action plan.
